While much of Matt's career has been spent in front of the camera and on stage, some of his most meaningful work happens behind the scenes.
A passionate mentor, volunteer, and artist, Matt believes in using his experiences to inspire, connect, and make a positive impact. Whether coaching young athletes, speaking to graduates, creating original sculptures, or supporting charitable causes, Matt is driven by a deep commitment to growth, resilience, and human connection.
Driven by a passion for giving back, Matt dedicated more than ten years as a volunteer with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, helping grant wishes for children facing life-threatening medical conditions. In 2004, Matt created Matt Gallant’s Bowling for Wishes, a fundraising event that ran successfully for five years and raised more than $100,000 in support of children and families served by the foundation. For Matt, giving back is about connection, compassion, and showing up for others.
When he’s not working, Matt fully embraces his passions for sports, art, and competition. A sculptor for more than 20 years, he has showcased his work in galleries in Laguna Beach and Beverly Hills, using art as another creative outlet for storytelling and self-expression.
A lifelong athlete and competitor, Matt currently plays baseball in the LABL adult league, is an avid golfer, and has completed multiple marathons—always seeking the next challenge. A passionate Boston sports fan, his loyalty runs deep with the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, and Boston Bruins.
Among his many accomplishments, Matt was selected as the Commencement Speaker for the University of Rhode Island’s 2004 undergraduate ceremony. In true Matt fashion, his speech blended inspiration with humor, leaving a lasting impression on graduates and their families. In recognition of his impact, the university awarded him an honorary Doctorate of the Arts.
Art has been an important part of Matt’s life for more than 20 years. As a sculptor, he has showcased his work in galleries in Laguna Beach and Beverly Hills, using the creative process as a powerful outlet for self-expression. To this day, Matt continues to enjoy the practice of making art, finding inspiration in the process of creating and bringing ideas to life.
