Info on Matt

Matt Gallant is an Emmy Award-winning television host celebrated for his quick wit, sharp timing, and engaging personality. He brings vivacious energy and a strong work ethic to every project.
He hosted Animal Planet’s popular series "The Planet’s Funniest Animals" for five seasons. Although production has ended, the show regularly airs in syndication and continues to attract new audiences worldwide. Matt also hosted ABC's primetime hit "American Inventor" and, in 2012, co-hosted the Emmy Award-winning entertainment show "The List" on the Scripps Network. More recently, Matt hosted Arizona Spring Training Live, a daily 30-minute live look at MLB spring training in Arizona.
Matt took a sabbatical from the entertainment business in 2020 to successfully battle bladder cancer and is now cancer-free. During his hiatus, he became head coach and helped launch the girls’ varsity flag football program at Brentwood School in L.A. In 2025 under his leadership, the varsity flag football team won the Liberty League title. He also helped relaunch the Brentwood School softball program as head coach, and in 2025, the team qualified for the CIF playoffs for the first time in over a decade. Matt recently celebrated his return to the entertainment business with a 30-min live interview with Academy Award winner Jane Fonda.
